PATIENT DRUG EDUCATION DATABASE

An electronic database of product-specific patient-oriented drug information integrated into a vendor's software to provide a patient with a printed medication information sheet. This information is designed to supplement the verbal instructions to a patient by a physician, pharmacist or other health care professional concerning this medication regimen. The product information sheets contain concise material concerning the common uses, proper use, special instructions and precautions, and possible side effects for prescription and selected over-the-counter (OTC) medications.
